REAL Food Fast: Sausage and Spinach Pasta

Pasta. Almost everyone loves it. It is filling, and, it is cheap. It is one thing my children are guaranteed to eat. This REAL food version is easy on the wallet and customizable so you can make it spicy or not spicy if you have little children with young taste buds. :)

You can add a can of chiles to the pan to make this pasta just a little bit spicy {it won’t be REALLY hot} or you can add a bay leaf to keep all the hot away. Either way you go this pasta is filling and delicious and a great way to sneak in a vegetable.  My kids absolutely loved this recipe. I think it was because I called it hotdog noodles {a very inventive name. Aren’t you glad I’m a bit more inventive here}. LOL.  My son is crazy for nitrate free hotdogs and my daughter will eat any noodle you put in front of her. So this was a great combination of favorites in our house.

  1. Where do you get your nitrate free kielbasa/turkey sausage?

  2. Do you drain the tomatoes?

  3. Saved this to my favorites! 4 out of 5 enjoyed this dish (my eight year old is picky about everything!). I think next time I will add more sausage. Thanks!!

  4. Very tasty. I used Veggie Shreds “cheese” for my portion since I’m dairy free (everyone else had mozzarella) and it was yummy. I also added red pepper flakes to mine (Did not use the green chilies)

  5. Omg this is so good!! My 4yo LOVED it and she doesnt like “mixed-up food” (casserole type dinners), she even insisted that we add broccoli to it. Thanks for such an awesome and easy dinner!!
