Homemade Vanilla Pudding

homemade vanilla pudding

I am finding out more and more over the years that I can make many convenience foods that I once bought.  Not only is the processed, store bought variety filled with harmful chemicals and additives, it isn’t nearly as good as this.  Homemade is almost always better for you, better tasting, and often even cheaper!  Clearly there is no comparison, and you’d be crazy not to at least TRY to make your own.

Don’t be afraid to “fancy it up” a bit. You can use this recipe to make traditional banana pudding with layers of cookies and bananas.  Or, you could add bits of fruit like I did in the photo above {we used blueberries and raspberries with a dollop of fresh whipped cream}. Experiment and see what you like.

  1. This recipe looks yummy! About how many servings will this make? We are a family of 6 so I want each of us to have some! Thanks for sharing your recipe with us!

      Shauna,
I would make at least a double batch. It makes 4 servings if you are eating it as is. If you use it to make a banana pudding, it will make small servings.
You will wish you doubled it! :)

  2. Made the pudding 3 days ago, & my husband and I loved it! May try adding some cocoa powder for the kids. Have a blessed day!

  3. I love your recipes! I’m vegan and could easily sub the milk but I’m not sure what to do for eggs. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I am not vegan and don’t know much about how to sub for vegan. I am no help at all in this area.
