Are your kids constantly hungry? I know, what is up with that? They want to eat all. day. long. If you are looking for REAL food snacks that you can make with a few simple ingredients in just a few minutes, these little chocolate peanut butter oat bites {or protein power bites, or bubble bites as my 4 year old likes to call them} are sure to fit the bill.  They’ll fill your hungry children up too thanks to the peanut butter  which brings protein to the party.

If you like chocolate no bake cookies {or poop cookies as my husband’s family lovingly calls them}, these are very similar – but healthier without all the sugar.  Plus they are portable – which makes them a great little snack to carry in a lunchbox, on a hike, or in the car on the way to after school sports and other activities.  Just a couple of these meatball sized bites {like a large marble} will fill you up!

  1. These look so yummy! Do you think semi sweet baking chocolate could be substitued for the milk chocolate chips?

  2. Would it make a difference to replace the quick oats with old fashioned oats?

    • Denisesawyer says:

You might consider putting the old fashioned ones in the food processor or blender first. Quick oats are a little bit more broken down/finer. Old fashioned are more course/thicker.

      • I ended up making them this morning with the old fashioned oats. I wish I would have cut oats to just 2 cups. My husband thought they were too dry. I also used 60% Cacao Bittersweet chocolate chips. Two out of five of us like them. I think they are yummy! But I’m trying to not eat sugar right now so I might have to give some away so my 5 yr old doesn’t eat them all. Thank you for the response!

  3. I added some ground flax to mine- turned out great! These are so addictive :)
