Dirt and Worms Cupcakes


A good friend of ours celebrated his 7th birthday a couple weeks ago.  And, to help him celebrate we threw a small party for him at our church.  I made these cupcakes and I thought they were just too cute not to share them with you.  They were super simple and I think they have major boy appeal -what with all the gloppy looking dirt and worms.  They were a hit all around.

These cupcakes really couldn’t be much easier.  The gloppier they look, the better.  So, these cupcakes would be great for a fun kitchen project for new little bakers to try all by themselves.

Sometimes I make a cake from scratch, but in this case I had two parties in one day. Needless to say, I needed a shortcut so for these cupcakes I used a box mix {gasp}.  Hey, I could still form sentences at the end of the day…it was a good decision. 😉
