Menu Plan 4.10.11

Okay, I know, its not Monday.  Surely your used to me being late by now! LOL. Can anyone else out there relate?  I feel like I’m always a day late and a dollar short lately.

Yesterday was filled with a last minute observation of a student teacher in Chattanooga in the morning, a doctor’s appointment for DJ (that we all went to), and a trip to Walmart to grab a few groceries.

DJ’s appointment was for his blood/lab check up.  His levels looked great!  Another chance to praise our Lord for restoring him back to health and healing him from leukemia (it has been a year and 4 months since we got the report that his leukemia was in remission).

Well, today is going to begin with a new pancake recipe (I’ll be posting this week), a baking day for Judah and I and an art project for Judah bug to finish our lesson on Creation in Genesis.  Its going to be a fun filled day!

On to the week at hand, here’s whats for dinner at our house:

Menu Plan 4.2.12

Its Spring Break for me – otherwise known as potty training boot camp.  (:

So far, so good.  Don’t get me wrong, yesterday I thought we weren’t going to make it.  But today, Judah has done so well.  We might just lick this potty training thing before the week’s end!  It has been a great first day home with the kiddos.  I am more than exhausted though.

In the middle of potty training excitement I’m also dealing with a six month old who is having severe separation anxiety with momma.  She literally cries until vomiting when I leave the room (even when being left in daddy’s care).  So, this {hopefully} explains my lateness with meal plans.  I slipped into a short comma after putting the kids to bed.

We had a wonderful dinner, everyone survived another day, and we managed to have a little fun too.  Highlight of the day?  Our treasure hunt.  Judah’s “treasures” included crumpled leaves, smooshed pinecones, and rocks from the drive way.  He surprised me saying “this is a steep hill.”  Everyday he surprises me with a new word I didn’t know he knew!

On to the week at hand:

Menu Plan 3.26.12

One more week and I’ll be on Spring Break … or shall we call it potty training boot camp?  It will be my first full week home in a long time and we’re not planning a thing so that Judah and I can stay at home and get this potty training thing DONE.  Say a prayer for me.

This week we’ve been getting our errands done and checking things off the to do list.  We’ve bought Judah new summer shoes, picked up some capri jeans for me (since I’ve had my current pairs for the past 6 to 8 years and they are showing it! ), took the kiddos to their well check ups at the doctor, picked up student teacher portfolios, and restocked the fridge with a trip to Earth Fare. Now I can check off one more thing… this week’s meal plan.

Menu Plan Monday 3.12.12

Our family had a lovely visit to see my husband’s family last weekend.  It was a quick visit but there is never enough time!  We saw a good friend of my husband’s get married and it was a beautiful wedding to say the least.  Then, a long trek back home that included a detour thanks to a mudslide.  Most of today has been spent doing loads and loads of laundry and putting things away so that it doesn’t look like a firecracker was set off in my house!

This week is going to be a little different: my parents are out of town so my grandmother is coming to stay to help with the kids on the days I have to be at work.  (Thank goodness for her!).  So, I am cooking some dishes that I know she loves while she is here. (:

We also have a good friend that is home after an extended stay at the hospital so I am planning to take a few dinners over to her and my Nanny this week. So, I will be double batching my chicken noodle soup and of course there will be tons of ham and sides to go around. (:

I can’t wait to show you some of the pictures from the party and some of the how-to’s on how I made some of the decorations.  So, stay tuned!

So now, whats for dinner?  This week is all about using up leftovers before we head out of town over the weekend to a good friend’s wedding. (:

Menu Plan 2.27.12

It is going to be a busy week!  I have spent the past few weeks pidlin’ around getting things done for Judah’s birthday a little at a time.  I think I am almost as excited as he is for his birthday!  It will be this Saturday and it is going to be so much fun to watch him now that he is three!

I’ve been cleaning the house over the past two days but we’ll end our fun (before I head back to work on Wednesday and Thursday) with a fun evening – just Judah and I.  We’ll be having dinner out and then a fun night at the school where I work for “Cooking Night.”  I’ll be helping out but Judah is tagging along to do the fun activities.

Thursday night our family will be heading in to stay the weekend with us for a fun birthday weekend for Judah bug! I’m sure I’ll be exhausted by Sunday but it will be the best kind of exhausted!  I love seeing my family and friends. (:

It has been a great week so far!  I had a wonderful weekend visiting with my brother and his wife and we celebrated her birthday!  We ended our weekend together with a big family meal at Carabas (one of my favorite places to eat out).

I began the work week with a mad dash through thte house cleaning up and tackling the large heap of laundry that is taking over my laundry room.  I’ve also managed to squeeze in a little fun including a bike ride, a nature walk, an art project, and a little science experiment with my Judah bug.  (:

Menu Plan 2.13.12

Its been another “manic Monday.” I’ve been busily cleaning up the war zone house, doing a fun toddler painting project with Judah bug, and just got back from a meeting I didn’t know I had until this afternoon. It has been a whirlwind. Looking forward to one more relaxing day with my two kiddos before heading back to work on Wednesday.

We’ve got some more fun planned… the circus is in town! We’re off for some family fun at the Ringling Bros Circus in Atlanta on Thursday night!

Menu Plan Monday 2.6.12

We had a (much needed) relaxing family weekend this weekend.  Out for pizza at a local favorite, visited a good friend in the hospital who is making progress (albeit slow), and a trip to Michael’s craft store (I love that place!).  Got the last few things for Judah’s birthday at Michael’s and placed an order online for a few things as well.  (I am shopping online more and more these days – is it due to having two small children? Maybe.)

I also started my taxes and it doesn’t look as bad as I first thought.  So that was good news!  Now to spend a little time on this pitiful blog that has been so neglected and tackle that MOUND (or should I call it Mt. Everest) of laundry!  Wish me luck!

Here’s what is for dinner at our house this week.  This week we’re cleaning out the fridge, pantry and freezer.  We’ve been trying to buy very little at the store the last few weeks and use up what is already on hand.  That means I’ve been purchasing some fresh fruit for Judah bug and replacing dairy as we run out, but that is really about it besides a few odds and ends to round out meals here and there.
